Baking A Change unites students who believe that baking can spark both curiosity and compassion. Together, we explore the science behind each recipe and make desserts and other items from diverse cultures while donating baked goods to local shelters in the Charlotte area and nationally —spreading warmth, care, and connection one batch at a time.
We Do This By:
Hosting educational workshops about the science and nutrition connected to baking.
Hosting cultural nights to taste and bake desserts from different countries
Donating baked goods to shelters and organizations in areas of need.
Highlight small business owners in the baking world to learn about their journeys.
MEET
Navya
My name is Navya Jagarlamudi, I am a junior at Weddington High School in Matthews, North Carolina. My love for baking began at the age of five when I stood on a stool next to my first culinary teacher —my older sister— helping her pour ingredients and mix batter. Those early moments in the kitchen not only developed my love for baking, but also showed me that baking can bring people together.
